The season's message is: Mix it up. Experiment. Shift from one day to the next. The soft dark eye face of today, can become the flushed, blushed, glossy-lipped face of tomorrow. 

Either way a woman today has little time to do her Makeup. It's how she uses her time that makes the difference.

To keep Make-Up in place all day and eliminate the need for touch-ups, try using a primer first. The extra time spend applying it is well worth it. When you're done, spray a bit of Fixer/Sealer (such as Barrier Spray by Mehron, or any other similar product).
If you find yourself without a Sealer, take a pump Hairspray, hold it about 12 inches from your face, close your eyes and spray lightly twice. You'll be surprised how well your make up will hold all day. However, don't make a habit of it though, since it could cause brake outs.

The biggest error is excess: too much makeup, with too heavy handed an application.
The Makeup should be sheer, that reveals skin health and natural texture. This can be achieved with earthy toned shadows on eyes, the glow of minimum blusher brushed from cheeks up over the temple, lip color that's almost translucent. For the woman that lives by her own rules, freedom, drama, and excitement is the key for this (or any other) season's makeup.

Exciting pastels, shades of grays, Burgundies, khaki, teal and for the more daring, metallic will dominate this season.

The message: Successful, Well bred, Self confident. Hair, like Makeup, Nails, Clothes, and Shoes, should be treated as accessories of equal importance to the total look. Not a single one of them should over-power the others.
